I went to Beggar's with two of my closest friends and we did enjoy ourselves. The restaurant was hidden behind other buildings and their sign was not visible from Route 59. Walking into the restaurant was a little confusing because the door led to their carry-out section and there was no sign indicating if we need to wait to be seated. The workers there, saw that we were there but didn't really react, so I asked if we seat ourselves. That was a little annoying, but the place was very clean, open, and welcoming. Coming to Beggar's in January was not the brightest thing to do. Even though the place was warm and suitable for the outside weather conditions; I expected it to be a little warmer than it was, from all the ovens being on of course.
As soon as we picked a table, a waiter came straight to our table, greeted us and asked what we wanted to drink. The menu had a variety of options to choose from and the prices were very exceptional. We decided to go to Beggar's for pizza, so we turned to the last page were all the pizza was. They have so many kinds and sizes, and they have a lot of toppings. We decided to order one small cheese pizza and one small taco pizza. None of us had tried either and we thought it would cover their most plain pizza to one of their special pizzas. The waiter stopped by a few times to check on drinks and to inform us on how long until the pizza would be ready.
Our pizzas arrived and this is exactly what they looked like.
There was the perfect amount of cheese and sauce and it was the perfect temperature; right out of the oven. Usually, pizza places don't cut the pizza very well and you have to fight to get a piece, but not here. It was perfect. I normally don't order cheese pizza, but I was very satisfied with this one. The first bite was delicious, wih the cheeses and sauce and warmness, trust me...it was amazing.
We also ordered a taco pizza; I was in desperate need of trying to find a yummy taco pizza. When it arrived my mouth wouldn't stop salivating. I was dissapointed that the lettuce wasn't shredded and the tomatoes were whole. It was a little hard to eat with only having one piece of tomato per slice of pizza. To be honest I didn't even eat it with the lettuce, that would have been wierd. The olives were fresh and there was just enough sour cream. I always run out of sour cream. It was SO cheesy!
Overall the pizza was good, but it wasn't something I would order again. Beggar's has excellent service and they are very helpful. The restaurant was clean and it was very comfortable. This restaurant is perfect for any family gathering or to order and have food delivered to your house. They cater as well, so they are great for parties.
In this review I didn't take into context that it could have been a bad chef preparing our food that day or if that's what they use and do all the time when making their pizza. I did see, however, people sitting across from us that had ordered sandwiches and they looked very good. I definitely would recommend trying their sandwiches even though I have not. I will definitely be back to try their sandwich's because they did look worth it. From what I saw, there was plenty of french fries on the plates and the sandwiches were in a great proportion. So, I would suggest Beggar's pizza for any occasion; their food is great and their restaurant is open and welcoming.
